A Special Moment....

Oh my, I've been on a hiatus again!! I don't know what is going on with me but all I've been doing is working, sleeping, and eating- although I have been fortunate to stay clear of the dreaded 'morning sickness' pregnancy symptom I have been bit by the lazy all I want to do is lay around bug.

Well as you all know I let the 'cat out of the bag' on my last post so I thought I would share this special moment that my dear hubby and I shared when I let him on the 'B-I-G NEWS' :)-

14 days after my egg retrieval I had an appt. with my fertility dr. to test my HCG levels to see if the IVF process worked and to find out if I was pregnant. As you can imagine I did A LOT of praying leading up to this day. Monday morning came and I went in for the blood test- I was to hear from my dr. via a phone call by the end of the day to find out the news. Shortly before noon my cell rang and I literally sprang to my feet and excused myself from the office (I was working this day). As luck would have it the phone call went into my voice mail before I had a chance to answer it. Sure enough, it was my dr. who was calling with the news. I don't think I ever dialed a number so quickly before...I had to catch him before he got stuck in appts. again. Dr. Moffitt came on the line and relayed some of the sweetest words I have ever heard, "Congratulations, You are pregnant"...All I could say was, "Praise the Lord" as I know this is the work of the most gracious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Mr. doctor went on to tell me that my HCG level was at 57 and that I would need to come back in 2 days later to have my HCG checked again to make sure that my levels were doubling every 48 hours. After hearing the news I have been waiting to hear for a very long time I wanted to share it with everyone- especially my husband. However, I had to spill the beans to David in typical Heather fashion so that of course meant some craftiness had to be involved. Here is how it went down:

David came strolling in to the house after work and there I was munching on what else but a pickle-
When he saw me eating the pickle he chuckled and said, "Are you pregnant?" I said no, I just felt like eating a pickle ;)

Soon after he came home we started to make dinner. David asked what are we having for dinner tonight? I stated spaghetti...Will you get the Prego sauce out-

Again he seemed to catch on as he immediately came over and rubbed my belly and said, "Here's the Prego"

As dinner was cooking I walked away to go get something and yelled over my shoulder, "Hey sweetie, Will you check on the buns in the oven"...

Again, My smart hubby that he is...came running over to me rubbing my belly saying, "Here's the buns in the oven".

Admittedly, David was catching on to my little signals much better then I thought he would- I had completely underestimated the mind of my handsome Swede :). Since he was catching on to everything so quickly I just couldn't wait any longer. It was time to give him this-
This is a scrapbook I had created for him about 2 years ago (I created it when we started to try to get pregnant). My plan was to break the wonderful news to him that he was going to be a father through this little book entitled The Top 10 Reasons why you are going to be a great DAD The very last page of the book, says 'Because You are One' Where I have the picture of the positive pregnancy test.

Although David did not get it after looking at the scrapbook, He was ecstatic when I told him, Honey you are a DADDY- We are having a BABY, I"M PREGNANT"This was one of the sweetest moments we have shared as husband and wife- Celebrating on the Miracle God has placed in my womb....

We can't meet to wait you BABY MELLSTROM :)

I wouldn't have expected anything less - you are so creative! I was glad to hear that you already made the scrapbook and didn't manage to whip that out between noon and five!! What a sweet memory and story. Probably time to start a new blog dedicated to baby stories and future pics:)
