'The Studio'

As you know, I am right smack dab in the middle of decorating my craft studio :). There are so many projects I would like to get completed for my studio but all in do time. This baby is my latest creation for the studio-

When I started to redo my studio space I knew I wanted to make it inviting for my peeps to come and craft with me :)- A girl loves company when she is crafting! Since I wanted the space to be warm and inviting I thought it would be great to have a beverage/snack cart of some sort inside the studio. We do have a tea cart that is part of our dining room set that was given to us by my grandparents but the thought of lugging that piece up and down the stairs wasn't quite appealing to me..not to mention I wanted to decorate the piece to fit in the studio. Well...when shopping at the 'Birds Nest' {Goodwill} I stumbled across this piece of junk that would make the perfect treasure for my space (not to mention the price was right- $10 :)

This is what I did with her. Gave her a good coat of black paint (don't mind the dust in this pic- LOL)

Then I created a stencil using my Cricut and painted inside the stencil lines an antique gold (I mixed some gold paint with some DecoArt Burnt Umber paint to give it just the look I wanted)

Then I gave the top some character by stamping a design on to the top; I literally dipped my rubber stamp into the paint and stamped away.
The top was way to crisp for my liking so I used my burnt umber mixed with some glaze to age it- much better!

Something was still missing and I had the perfect thing to finish it off- my crown knobs I have been hording for ages...these are perfect for this piece!
I had picked these babies up at HL to use on my craft desk but since I went a completely different direction with my desk I had no where to use them, until now...So happy I got to use them, I love them.

Well here she is all completed.

Now just waiting for my craftinista chicas to come over so we can put her to use- the perfect place to hold snacks and beverages in Paper Princess Studio
