NEST- A Pottery Barn Inspired Pillow

There are so many things that inspire me- one of my favorite places to be visually inspired is Pottery Barn. Although I can't afford to fully decorate my home from the store/ catalog, it does inspire me to create my own one of a kind home decor items from the inspiration it stirs up in my mind :). This is my latest PB inspired home decor item-

When browsing through one of my latest PB catalog's, I came across this-
And well...fell in love.

I decided to make my own and save myself $49.00. Considering I had all the supplies on hand and didn't have to spend a dime on this, I'm pleased with the way it turned out. I used burlap instead of linen and luv the look...especially because I'm going to be placing it on a bench on our patio.

Oh, and funny story- at the same time I was making this pillow we had a nest right outside on our patio. The mama/papa birds made refuge on top of one of our patio drapes and a few weeks later we heard baby chirps :). Here are the babies on the day they flew the coop...literally :).
The bench where this pillow is going is right below where the nest is- now that's apropo!

Hope you are having a fabulous weekend Nesting!

Love the pillow! I, too, like your version better, and before reading the words thought yours WAS the PB one. It will look great on a bench under the bird's nest. Way to go!

Your pillow IS better than PB! I just had to say hi, and say I enjoyed your story of being a princess. My oldest son met Cinderella at DW when he was 5 and was in loooove! His first crush, and what a great memory for me. Now, he is a teen and I have a nice story to embarass him (ha! the magic keeps on living!) I was also on the Miss America trail many (many) years ago. I tease my kids that I was a beautiful princess and married my Prince and now I scrub floors and wear rags (backwards version) Not really....more like I live happily ever after ;)
God bless your family!
best wishes,
Patty

You've lit such a fire in me to gather the materials together and do a PB knock-off I've been thinking about. Thanks for the inspiration!
