I'm back...but I left my heart in San Francisco

I'm back....I know some of you have probably been wondering where I was. Hubby and I were off on a romantic vacation celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary :).We left early Thurs. morning for our get away which included 3 romantic days in San Francisco followed by 2 absolutely lovely days in Sonoma (wine country). We had a wonderful time...some of it a bit adventurous but great never the less. The adventurous part you ask????? Well, David's suite case was lost on the way to San Francisco (it was later delivered to our hotel that same day), our one and only ride on the trolley involved our trolley colliding with a produce truck, and the saddest part of the trip was witnessing a gal laying on the side of the street who had been riding her bike and was struck by a taxi. Besides those 3 unexpected incidents the rest of the trip went smoothly and could not have been any better! We saw so much of San Francisco: Fisherman's wharf (this is where we stayed), Lombard St, Alcatraz, The Golden Gate Bridge, Ghiradelli square, China town, and the famous Mark Hopkins hotel. On our actual anniversary we had a cocktail on 'Top of the Mark' and had the most breath taking view of the whole bay...just gorgeous! We then had a cozy/romantic meal at Fior De Italia (apparently the oldest Italian restaurant in the US)...the food was delicious and we had a pleasent surprise waiting for us when we arrived; mom and dad had called ahead and ordered us a bottle of wine to celebrate our 1 year anniversary :). The night was perfect, the day great, and the whole time spent in San Fran just divine!!!

After a few days spent down in the bay we hopped in the rental car and headed north to Sonoma. On our way to the wine country we stopped in Muir Woods to experience the infamous California Red Woods...Wow!!! These things are quite amazing!!! Seeing a sight like this truly makes you see the 'awesomeness' of God! After a few hours spent taking in this awesome creation we headed up to the good ol' Calif. wine country..Sonoma. All I can say is...I LOVE IT there!!! David and I both do :)...If we ever win the lottery you'll know where to find us :). The scenery is to die for, the wine- YUM ;), and the whole experience just wonderful. We even had a very personal in depth tour of the Blackstone Winery by a gentleman named John...we stumbled into him in the parking lot and come to find out he's a prestigious wine judge who is very involved in the whole wine making process and happens to work for many of the prestigious wineries up there- Lucky us!

As you can probably tell from reading this...I'm still on cloud 9!!! What made each and every second of this trip take my breath away was speeding it with the most awesome man...my husband!! To many, many more anniversaries :) :)!!!
